Some Information about Snoring and Measures to Stop It
We all want to have a good night sleep but sometimes are disturbed to have it because the person beside us is snoring, or it could be ourselves who are causing the disturbance itself with snoring.
You have to be aware that if someone snores frequently and is not being checked on it, there will have an effect and state of the sleep of the person and the other individual who could be sleeping with the person, leading to daytime exhaustion, irritability and possible health problems. Luckily for us all, there are now many products like snoring aids that are sold in the market today that can help us fix this concern.
To start with, let us describe snoring as a loud sound caused by the vibrating respiratory structures that include the soft palate, uvula, and an obstruction of the air while a person sleeps. The common causes of snoring are the narrower airways especially for men that could lead more to snoring, the age of the person since as one gets older there is a wearing out of throat leading to its narrowing and losing of strength, issues of sinus and nasal congestion of the person where the blockage of the nasal passage would obstruct the airways causing the snore noise, being obese or overweight where too much fat and weak muscle tone contributes to the snoring, the posture of the person while sleeping like sleeping on one’s back facing up that would have the throat relax and obstruct the airway leading to snoring, and other habits like drinking, smoking or taking some medications leading the throat muscles to relax and as a result the snoring.
With the above possible causes, a person has then to identify his or her own situation why snoring occurs so that there is a proper solution that could lead to a good rest in the evening.
It is observed though that more often than not, individuals who have more throat issues are the ones who have the tendency to snore more. Another observation is how your tongue is positioned that could affect the way you breathe thus the sound of snoring.
Note that snoring could indicate of a more serious health condition like sleep apnea that needs immediate medical attention. Know that sleep apnea is also life threatening and therefore has to be attended to sooner. If you have the following symptoms like breathing pauses while sleeping, excessive daytime fatigue and sleepiness, feeling of exhaustion when waking up, possible headaches in the morning, weight gain, and there is confusion when waking up in the night, then it is time to have yourself checked.
Therefore, by identifying the cause of your snoring will lead you to the most appropriate solution to this problem.
